Out of shape and getting old....
My hubby started a kickball "league" and I had the pleasure of joining them last night for their 2nd practice. (Their first one was last week but I had to work unfortunately) It was fun, but boy am I SORE!!! I think every muscle in my body is sore. I would really like to take an Icy Hot bath!! I know that I can't do things like I used to when I was a kid, but man I didn't think I would hurt this bad. I wish I would have taken some pictures, but I didn't bring anything. Not even my cell phone!! And that is usually attached to my hand. LOL. But it is turning out to be an every Wed. thing. So I better get cracking and start getting into shape. I blew up my body ball again the other day, so I really need to get going on that. I love that thing! I'm also starting a diet on Monday. I set a day. I have decided to write on here as a journal about it, so other people may or may not read and that will be motivation? It's worth a try I guess.

Happy Mother's Day!!
Happy Mother's Day to all you mother's out there! What a great day to be celebrated!! My day started out with my kids waking me up. I love it! They like to crawl in my bed with me and "cuddle". How did I get so lucky? I unfortunately had to go into work. I was only scheduled from 10-2:30. So it wasn't too bad. It was nice to get off to spend some time with my favorite people. I got home and sort of relaxed and sat around for a while. Then the hubby and I took the boys outside to play. Erich finally found some play sand for our little turtle sandbox. Caleb had a wonderful time in there!! I have a feeling this guy is going to like getting dirty!! (Which is fine with me!) The day had a few rough spots for me. It's hard not "having" a mom to celebrate Mother's day with. My mom passed away 3 years ago. Even though I think of her and miss her everyday, certain days are harder than most. (Her birthday, Mother's day, Christmas and other holidays) But I made it through! I am so glad that I have kids to take that off my mind! :) Overall I had a great day! And it couldn't have been nicer out!

2 kids or 3....
So, I think about this almost constantly. We now have 2 boys. I'm undecided to try for a 3rd. I don't want to be selfish and say I want my girl! I know I don't decide that. We are in a different situation now than when we were when we got married and were starting a family. Now, we have our 2 boys AND my brother. So it's like having 3 kids, yet my brother will be out of the house in not too many years. I don't want to decide if we have another kid just because we have him living with us. Because I don't want to end up down the road regretting not having another child. Then again, we don't know if we could afford another one. The reason that I'm thinking of this nonstop is because I wanted to be done or be pregnant by the time I am 30. Well...I will be 30 in a little over 4 months. So now is the time to decide. So if you are out there and reading this...if you have 3 kids..how did you decide if you wanted another after your 2nd? Did you have 2 of the same sex and were trying for the other? Or maybe you just like having a house full of kids, I'm not sure. I think I am done rambling for now. I think I just have baby fever and it's taking over my brain!!!! LOL Have a good Wednesday everybody!

For a young child who was taken too early.
So I haven't blogged in a while. I never really know what to say, and we never really do anything exciting around here. Lol. But today in our little town of Montevideo, they are having a funeral for a little boy who passed away this past weekend. He was only 10 years old and in the 4th grade. The 4th grade students from our school went on a field trip rewarding the students from something they did by taking them to a local community center for swimming. One of his fellow students found him underwater and they called the ambulance and everything but they could not revive him. I just don't understand, because the parents paid extra money to have another lifeguard on duty (there were 2). My kids are not yet in school, but it makes me wonder now if I should think twice about letting them go on field trips like that. I don't know if it's me just being overprotective, but it is so scary. My thoughts and prayers are with the family today, as they have to lay their child to rest after a tragic accident that was suppose to be a "rewarding" trip. If you have kids, hug and kiss them and tell them you love them everyday because you never know what tomorrow will bring.

Laughs for Friday...
Ok, So I absolutely LOVE very funny "fwds". I'm kind of a sucker for them..not the ones that say make a wish and send to 1o people or someone you love will die. Not those. But the funny ones are the only ones I usually forward on to other people. I got this one the other day from my friend and I laughed out loud so loud that I scared my one year old. So I thought I would share it here...
It is titled "Baked Beans"
One day I met a sweet gentleman and fell in love. When it became apparent that we would marry, I made the supreme sacrifice and gave up beans. Some months later, on my birthday, my car broke down on the way home from work. Since I lived in the countryside I called my husband and told him that I would be late because I had to walk home. On my way, I passed by a small diner and the odour of baked beans was more than I could stand. With miles to walk, I figured that I would walk off any ill effects by the time I reached home, so I stopped at the diner and before I knew it, I had consumed three large orders of baked beans. All the way home, I made sure that I released all the gas. Upon my arrival, my husband seemed excited to see! me and exclaimed delightedly: 'Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight.' He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call. The baked beans I had consumed were still affecting me and th e pressure was becoming most unbearable, so while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go. It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a p ulpwood mill. I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other cheek, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable. When eventually the telephone farewells signalled the end of my freedom, I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself. My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband returned, apologizing for taking so long. He asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not. At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests seated around the table chorused: 'Happy Birthday!' I fainted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sickness...
I was so tired last night I felt exhausted. So as soon as Caleb went to bed around 8, I told the hubby I was too tired and was going to have to go to bed. I brought Jonah with me hoping he would go to sleep a little early...I think I was asleep a little after 9. If you know me, you know that I am a night owl and don't usually go to bed early. So I thought ok, I'm getting sick. Woke up at 4am this morning and could not swallow. It hurt so bad. So I got up watched a little of the news and went back to bed to toss and turn. Finally fell back to sleep and still had the sore throat. At this point my whole body aches and I can barely move. So I get the kids dressed and bundled up to make our way in the cold to the good ol' clinic to get a strep test. Sure enough it was positve. I have strep. Wonderful. So now I'm on antibiotics, so hopefully I feel better by tomorrow. I would love to just lay in bed and sleep but Jonah doesn't take naps anymore so that isn't likely. So today is just a day for rest and reclining!! Which is fine because it is darn cold outside!! Really getting sick of this snow! I swear it's been snowing at least one day out of the weekend since Christmas. It's getting annoying now. You know it has snowed alot when the piles of snow from the plow are taller than I am!! Pretty soon it will all melt. But not soon enough!! Maybe we should just buy some snowmobiles!?!?!
